Theory and Practice
First and foremost, I am a person-centered therapist. This means that our time in session is dedicated to whatever you want to explore, and I am here to guide you on your journey. Additionally, I draw from a variety of counseling theories, including strength-based, psychodynamic, narrative, and other valuable approaches. Regardless of the theory I use, I always strive to approach our work through a multicultural lens. It’s essential to acknowledge that I am continuously learning and my pursuit of becoming a multiculturally competent counselor is ongoing. Authenticity is at the core of my practice, ensuring my clients feel a genuine connection with me in the therapy room.
Who am I as a person?
I am a jack of all trades, so my areas of interest are pretty diverse and seemingly infinite. I can tell you how to bake the perfect chocolate chip cookie or ramble on about my current Dungeons & Dragons campaign. I am also an avid traveler; I have spent time exploring Asia and even lived in South Korea. Furthermore, I consider myself a creator, possessing numerous craft skills and an imagination eager to tell stories. Overall, I strive to be a good person who is always trying to improve.
